Monthly Archives: October 2013

it’s the end of October as we know it

and I feel fiiine.

No, wait, I feel overwhelmed with responsibilities!

I realized I haven’t written a post in an entire month, which is unacceptable considering I was on a steady stream of one or two per week for most of the life of this blog. But at least teaching is going well! Last Friday marked the end of the first quarter, and in that entire time I never had a day bad enough to cry about (and I’m a cryer). So that’s exciting…

But I did cry about the end of “Allegiant.” I won’t say anything more because I’d hate for anyone to have their reading experience spoiled. Let’s just say it’s not what I expected, but I completely understand the choices Veronica Roth made and can respect them. And at least the movie version of Divergent is still something to look forward to.

I needed to swing my mood back up after that, so my current reading is Allie Brosh’s “Hyperbole and a Half”-in-book-form. I wish I was her best friend in real life. She’s hilarious! Some introduction and transitions between stories would have been nice–I can imagine that people who aren’t familiar with her blog will struggle to get into the beginning of the book–but it’s still great despite that.

Next issue: will I do NaNoWriMo this year? It starts… in about 3 hours.
STILL UP FOR DEBATE
